Tom Brokaw Reveals His Cancer is Now in Remission

Last February, journalist Tom Brokaw revealed he was undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma in August 2013.

But now, Tom, 74, has happily announced his cancer — which affected blood cells in the bone marrow — is now in remission.

“A year ago my future was more uncertain than I cared to acknowledge but now I face the New Year with very encouraging news,” he wrote in a statement released by NBC. “The cancer is in remission and I will shortly go on a drug maintenance regimen to keep it there.”

“Happy New Year all,” Tom finished the letter before signing his name as “T Bone.”
