Selma Blair Says She ‘Can Walk’ After Photo Shows Sarah Michelle Gellar Pushing Her in a Wheelchair

Even though Selma Blair was recently seen being pushed in a wheelchair by her very best friend Sarah Michelle Gellar recently, she has eased worried folks by revealing that she can still walk despite her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis.

On Thursday, March 18, Selma, 46, and Sarah, 41, were spotted at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. But some concerns were felt by fans when a photo showed the Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum pushing the actress in a wheelchair. Arthur, the Hellboy costar’s 7-year-old son, was seen sitting on his mom’s lap through it all.

But Selma has decided to clear some things up, as she took it to Instagram to explain the photo. “When you and your son are sooooo pleased to have a #pushy BFF. #sarahmichellegellar is literally the strongest woman,” she captioned the picture she shared on Saturday, March 30. “Arthur weighs 50 lbs and he really digs this lifestyle. I can stand. I can walk. Don’t worry folks. But that uses up the whole day of energy.”

She continued, “I am still in an exacerbation so this is how I roll. I busted my tailbone or would use my #alinker, but then Arthur would have to walk and that is not how he rolls. Seriously. Thank you Sarah and @jaime_king who basically saved me last week. And @reesewitherspoon who sent food for the weekend. I love you all.”

Selma wrapped it up with, “I mean my gratitude list goes on and on. PS. I did not know this pic was being taken. I saw it on someone’s feed. And there is no shame in using whatever you can to get around. So I am just controlling this narrative. I am not one foot in the grave.”

Earlier this year, upon learning that Selma had revealed her condition to the world, Sarah quickly responded with nothing but kind words.

“To say I’m proud, would be a gross understatement. When I have a cold, I want to hide from the world under my covers,” she captioned a photo on Instagram of the two. “But not Selma. She is facing this diagnosis, the way she faces everything, with dignity, grace and head on.” The actress added, “I know the support and encouragement that she has received on this platform has truly been a source of strength for her. This is not an easy journey, but Selma will not let this define her.”

Keep being strong, Selma!
