So SadNew Memoir Reveals Moment Princess Diana Gave Up on Her Marriage to Prince Charles
New details have emerged about the end of Princess Diana‘s marriage to Prince Charles.
An updated version of a memoir written by Diana’s former bodyguard Ken Wharfe has revealed the late royal gave up on her relationship with Charles, now 67, after he suffered injuries in a 1990 polo accident.

When Diana went to see her husband in the hospital following the incident, the mother-of-two — who sadly died at age 36 in an August 1997 car crash — was rejected by Charles. But, he did accept a visit from his then-mistress, Camilla Parker Bowles.
“Diana confessed to me… with absolute determination, that this was the last straw,” Wharfe wrote. “Her compassion was wasted on her husband… what the prince didn’t want, the public did.”
