Prince William’s Daughter Princess Charlotte Helps Him Bond With 5-Year-Old Girl Hurt in Christchurch Attack
So touching! Prince William had quite the moment recently with a young girl who was injured in the Christchurch terror attacks.
“Do you have a daughter?” 5-year-old Alen Alsati, who woke up from a coma earlier this week, asked the Duke of Cambridge, 36, while he visited her room at the Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland.
“Do I have a daughter? Yeah, she’s called Charlotte,” Kate Middleton‘s husband replied. “She’s about the same age as you.” Alen was surrounded by her loved ones when the duke had a chat with her about his little girl, 3.
William has been paying his respects to those lost in the awful March 2019 attack on mosques. “The Duke will pay tribute to those affected by the Christchurch mosques terrorist attack, and will recognize the incredible empathy and unity displayed by the people of New Zealand in the weeks that followed,” the Kensington Palace said in a statement shared on their official Instagram account on Wednesday, April 24. “#NewZealand #Anzac #AnzacDay #LestWeForget,” they added.
While on his trip, the father-of-three also met with Muslim community leaders in Christchurch and with the Justice and Emergency Services Precinct to thank them for their work. “You did an incredible job on a very bad day,” the royal said upon meeting them.
At the time of the attack, Kensington Palace said, “Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the people who lost their lives in the devastating attack in Christchurch. We know that from this devastation and deep mourning, the people of New Zealand will unite to show that such evil can never defeat compassion and tolerance. We send our thoughts and prayers to everyone in New Zealand today.”
It’s amazing to see the duke taking some time to reach out to all these men and women. We’re sure it will positively impact them.
