Meghan Markle Reportedly Gushes Prince Harry Will ‘Be the Best Dad’ to Baby Sussex

It looks like Prince Harry is already acing the best dad jokes! While stepping out to attend the Endeavour Fund Awards on Thursday, February 7, Meghan Markle and her husband met with inspiring guests at the pre-ceremony reception. As they made their way around the party, the Duke was apparently overheard telling one invitee, “There’s a heavy baby in there!”

And the Duchess of Sussex, who is expecting her first child with Harry, 34, had the best response to his sweet joke. “He’s going to be the best dad,” the 37-year-old reportedly gushed of her hubby.

The royal couple attended the event during the evening to celebrate the achievements of wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women who have participated in sporting and adventure challenges over the last year.

Besides showing off her growing baby bump, the former Suits actress looked dazzling as she wore a Givenchy ensemble that included a white collared top tucked into a gorgeous black skirt with a sassy slit. Meg tied the outfit together with a pair of unique black Aquazzura pumps with gold detail. So pretty!

Ross Kemp, actor and documentary maker, acted as the host for the special awards show. He even got a chance to chat with Meg and Harry about their newest family member — and it’s not Baby Sussex. “We talked about how they’ve got a puppy, and we got a puppy before we had our first boy,” Kemp said, according to People. “It’s a preparation for nappy changing and pooing, basically.”

The documentary filmmaker also praised Harry, a former British Army captain, for the films he made about soldiers fighting in Afghanistan. “He said it changed public opinion in terms of the sympathy towards the soldiers in the ground,” Kemp explained. “He was saying it helped bring awareness. It was actually nice to be banked by someone like him who’s been there himself and seen and done it.”

He even admired the expectant parents’ public position. “If you look at A-listers in the world, there probably aren’t many bigger than those two,” Kemp gushed. “They are down-to-earth, very warm, very decent human beings who care. They could potentially be a massive catalyst for great change — not just in the UK but around the world.”

Before they make any changes around the globe, they’re going to have to adjust to the change in their lives when their first child arrives this spring. We can’t wait to meet Baby Sussex!
