Mario Lopez Sadly Suffers A Leg Injury Before Emmys, Walks Red Carpet Wearing Medical Boot

Get well soon, Mario Lopez! The actor is making headlines tonight for wearing a gray medical boot while walking the 2018 Emmys red carpet on Monday, Sept. 17.

The 44-year-old star stepped out at the Television Academy event sporting a black and white tux with — wait for it — shorts instead of pants. And, because of his cropped trousers, fans could clearly see that Mario recently hurt himself. So, what exactly happened to his leg?

According to Cosmopolitan, Mario seemingly hurt his leg around the 4th of July and is still recovering from a sporting accident. “Celebrating the 4th in the E.R… Tore my achilles sparring. Ugh… So frustrated. No boxing or jiujitsu for a while. Maybe God’s telling me to slow down… Bout to get hooked up with some good pain meds [though]. #NoSparringForAWhile #MRI #SurgeryComingUp #ThisSucks #StJoesephsHospital #DrWang,” the father-of-two captioned two Instagram pics of himself in the hospital earlier this summer.

Despite his injury, Mario is totally owning his unique Emmys look. In fact, he even gave fans a sneak peek at his shorts suit before hitting the red carpet with Extra. “Screw it. It’s hot and I’ve got a medical boot. I’m rockin shorts… #Emmys,” the TV star wrote on Twitter.

After pics of Mario on the Emmys carpet hit the internet, many people took to social media to express their candid opinions of his shorts and medical boot. “Mario Lopez’s Emmy shorts make me feel like he stole the outfit from Prince George,” one person wrote. Another added, “Mario Lopez rocking them shorts!”
