2001

Fresh off of the fame from 1996’s Happy Gilmore, Julie starred in ER from 1998 to 2000. After her time on the medical drama, she appeared in Venus and Mars and Joe Somebody, as well as acting in Ed from 2000 to 2004.

2003

2005

In 2004, Julie married Scott Phillips. Together they welcomed son Oliver and twins John and Gustave.

2008

Julie brought her eldest child along for a rare red carpet appearance in Beverly Hills.

2010

The mom of three appeared at an event with her adorable twins, just one year after making her Modern Family debut.

2012

Julie earned Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards in 2012, as well as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmy Awards.

2014

Her Modern Family success continued in 2014 when she and the cast won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

2016

She flashed a huge smile at the 22nd Annual Critics’ Choice Awards in a white halter-neck dress with a belt.

2019

Julie did a lot of voiceover work while simultaneously working on Modern Family, including credits from animated shows like DuckTales and Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure. The series finale of Modern Family aired on April 8, 2020.

She also went through some big changes in her personal life, divorcing Scott in 2018.

2024

In 2024, Julie started working on Happy Gilmore 2 with Adam Sandler, as well as landing the lead in the series Hysteria!

She appeared on Today in September 2024, to spill some details about the sequel. Jenna Bush Hager asked Julie, “Are y’all [still] together?” referring to her character and Adam’s character. Julie replied, “Yes, we are very much together.”
