Elizabeth Reaser (2007-2008)

The actress starred as Ava/Rebecca Pope in 18 episodes throughout Seasons 3 and 4. She first appeared as a disfigured Jane Doe in the Seattle ferry boat crash storyline and later left her husband and baby girl to be with Alex Karev. After her relationship with Alex ended, Rebecca attempted suicide and was admitted to a psych ward.

Christina Ricci (2006)

In Season 2, Christina guest starred in two intense episodes — "It's the End of the World" and "As We Know It" — as Hannah Davies, a paramedic who shoved her hand into a patient's body to stop him from bleeding out without knowing the man had a homemade bazooka in his torso.

Sarah Paulson (2010)

Sarah played Meredith Grey's mother, Ellis Grey, in the Season 6, 1982-set flashback episode, "The Time Warp."

Kyle Chandler (2006-2007)

Kyle portrayed bomb squad leader Dylan Young, who helped evacuate the hospital after a patient was admitted with a homemade bazooka in his body. He appeared in two Season 2 episodes — "It's the End of the World" and "As We Know It" — and also guest starred in Season 3 as part of Meredith Grey's dream after she nearly drowns.

Seth Green (2007)

Seth played Nick — a patient who had a tumor removed from his neck leaving only a thin layer of skin over his carotid artery — in the Season 4 episodes "Crash Into Me (Part 1)" and "Crash Into Me (Part 2)."

Rosanna Arquette (2005)

Rosanna appeared in the Season 2 episode "Owner of a Lonely Heart" as Constance Ferguson, a prisoner who swallowed razor blades in order to be removed from solitary confinement and taken to the hospital.

Bernadette starred in two Season 5 episodes — "Dream a Little Dream of Me (Part 1)" and "Dream a Little Dream of Me (Part 2) — as Sarabeth, a woman who landed in the hospital after getting in a serious car accident with her two friends and their husbands.

Sharon played Izzy Stevens' mother, Robbie Stevens, in the Season 5 episode "No Good at Saying Sorry (One More Chance)."
