General Hospital’s Steve Burton Announces Engagement to Michelle Lundstrom: ‘So Blessed’

Congratulations are in order for General Hospital’s Steve Burton. The actor announced his engagement to Michelle Lundstrom in a post shared on Instagram on Saturday, January 4.

“Engaged 1/3/25,” he wrote with a heart emoji, a ring emoji and the infinity emoji. “‘Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

In the video, Steve was pictured getting down on one knee as Michelle clasped her hands over her mouth. The pair later posed together, with the ring on full display and shared a few passionate kisses after the proposal.

Many of his fellow actors and fans left comments on the post to send their love to the couple. Cameron Mathison commented on the post with several red heart emojis, while Finola Hughes wrote, “Oh Steve!!!! Congratulations! I wish you both all the happiness in the future, you are a wonderful couple! Congratulations Michelle!”

“I had no idea!!! Congratulations!!!! May you be fruitful and healthy. Multiplying is a lot of work,” Doug Davidson penned, while another person said, “I’m so happy for you both! You are my favorite character on GH. I have watched since I was in my teens in the 70’s. My mom watched and I would watch with her after school everyday. I also love your podcast with Bradford. You guys are great together. Thanks for sharing pictures of your beautiful moment with your fans! I wish you many years of happiness together!”

In a post in his Instagram Stories on Sunday, January 5, after the engagement, Steve wrote, “Thank you for all the love & comments, we’ve tried to read them all!! So blessed.”

Steve previously confirmed he was dating Michelle to Daily Drama in May 2024 after they were spotted holding hands. Some might recognize her from when she was a contestant on Netflix’s BBQ Showdown in season 2.

Prior to confirming his relationship with Michelle, Steve filed for divorce from wife Sheree Burton in July 2022. They were married for more than two decades before calling it quits due to “irreconcilable differences.” They share three children together: Makena, Jack and Brooklyn.

The Young and the Restless actor revealed in his Instagram Stories in May 2022 that Sheree was pregnant and the baby was not his.

“I wanted to clear something up. Sheree and I are separated,” Steve wrote. “She recently announced that she’s expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine. We are still coparenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much luv, Steve.”

Steve and Sheree’s divorce was finalized in December 2023. They both waived their right to spousal support “now or at any time in the future, regardless of the unforeseen circumstances that may exist in the future,” according to court documents obtained by People. The outlet reported Sheree got $50,000 as retroactive support.
