First Look at "The Giver" Starring Meryl Streep & Jeff Bridges! - Closer Weekly

Remember The Giver…the book your kids probably had to read in middle school?

Well the 1993 novel is now a major motion picture starring Oscar winners Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges, along with newcomer Brenton Thwaites, and we've got the first trailer for the sic-fi flick!

The story follows Jonas (Thwaites), a teen exposed to a world beyond his utopian society when he's selected to receive the memories of The Giver, the only citizen who knows the pain and suffering that used to exist in society.

The Giver doesn't open until August 15, but take a look at the cast in action below, which also includes Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgard and Taylor Swift!
