Mark Was Born in Spain 

Mark was born on March 30, 1971, in Zaragoza, Spain. He moved around a lot as a kid, living in Italy with his family for a while before planting roots in the U.S. The Riverdale actor is of Mexican and Italian descent.

He Once Worked as a Stripper

Prior to getting his big break in Hollywood with his All My Children role, Mark worked as a dancer in a nightclub. 

“A lot of hot guys in Hollywood have done that. He was straight out of college, and he went to Notre Dame and finished his degree at the University of South Florida,” Kelly said of her husband’s past job. “So, there he was in South Florida, he’s gorgeous, looking to break into show business, so he started off as a roadie to a group of these guys and then they talked him into stripping.”

Mark Shared the Screen With His Son 

In 2018, Mark was thrilled to welcome his eldest son, Michael, onto the Riverdale set to play the younger version of his devious character, Hiram Lodge. 

“He was absolutely amazing,” Mark, who is also a dad to kids Lola and Joaquin, gushed over Michael’s acting skills. “I will have to admit, a couple times I did sneak on set to watch his scenes … We do have some scenes together this time around. Michael killed it and I was just so impressed and so blown away.”

He Loves Married Life 

Mark is not shy about voicing his love for Kelly, whom he married in 1996. 

“I’m crazy about her,” he sweetly said. “She’s an extremely patient and a tolerant woman, and I think that’s the true secret to our marriage.”

Mark Loves Keeping Family Traditions 

Spending time with his kiddos and his wife has always remained a priority in Mark’s life. 

“My husband had dinner as a family every night growing up and he was like, ‘We are having family dinner every night, no matter what,'” Kelly shared. “And we do that. It means so much to the kids, it means so much to me. Does it always go as planned? Of course not.”
