Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson ‘Devastated’ ‘Modern Family’ Spinoff Not Moving Forward
Eric Stonestreet has some ‘splainin’ to do — the Modern Family actor is heartbroken plans for him and costar Jesse Tyler Ferguson to do an I Love Lucy–like T.V. spin-off featuring their iconic characters Cam and Mitch have been scrapped, a source exclusively tells Closer.
“These two were convinced they were going to be the gay Lucy and Ricky,” spills the insider.
“They are devastated their new show is not moving forward. It’s not just the money they’ll miss, it’s the thrill of being back on T.V. They both love the spotlight.”
The source says the project didn’t generate enough buzz to get the green light.
