DIY Friday: Craft a Decorative Emerald Isle Tabletop Garden for St. Patrick’s Day!
For this week’s DIY Friday, Garden Designer Shirley Bovshow visited the ‘Home & Family’ set to demonstrate how to create a decorative Emerald Isle Tabletop Garden — just in time for St. Patrick’s Day!

Follow the instructions below to craft your own DIY Emerald Isle Tabletop Garden!
Materials:
-
An assortment of mosses (sheet, cushion, rock cap or reindeer)
-
Large container
-
Potting soil
-
Emerald green glass boulder
-
Stones and pebbles
-
Small glass container (to hide mister pump)
-
Mister Maker machine (small)
-
Twigs to make “tree”
-
Fairy or St. Patrick’s figurines for holiday theme
-
Spray bottle with distilled water to water the moss
Directions:
-
Fill your large container with soil
-
Set your glass boulder in middle of planter
-
Make a deep hole to bury your glass container, leaving 1/2 an inch lip over the soil level

Insert Mister Maker into glass container and add water, cover with plastic to keep soil out
-
Plant mosses, using different types to create a natural effect.
-
Add small stones and cover with sheet moss to create raised, undulating hills
-
Plant small fern or other plant
-
Insert tree stems to stand in as a tree
-
Detail with St. Patrick’s Day and fairy decor.

Switch on Mister and Maker and enjoy the show!
