How did Chip and Joanna Gaines first meet?
Despite the fact that Chip and Joanna both attended Baylor University, they didn't meet until after graduation. Chip frequently visited Joanna's dad's automotive shop and once saw a photo of her on the wall.
"Her dad made the mistake of putting a pic of the family behind the counter at his shop," Chip admitted. "I knew I'd marry her one day just by the picture on the wall."
Joanna revealed that it took months for her to open up to her now husband.
"At first, I couldn't believe how kind Chip was," she said. "He had kind eyes, and made me laugh a lot. I knew he was the one because I knew I could trust him."

According to Starcasm, the reality stars earn $30,000 from the families who participate in each episode plus an undisclosed salary from HGTV. The couple previously revealed that before they began Fixer Upper they were completely broke.
"I remember when we first got married the only money we had was what was in Chip’s pocket," Joanna explained. "He always had a wad of cash, but we were broke. If I needed to go grocery shopping it’s whatever was in his pocket. That’s how we paid the bills."

The brunette beauty revealed on her website that she loves hearing people try to guess her ethnicity. "Although I did play Pocahontas in high school, I am not Native American. My father is half Lebanese/half German and my mother is full Korean," she said.
