Check Out Tom Hanks’ Audition Tape for ‘Forrest Gump!’
Twenty years after the film opened in theaters, a video of Tom Hanks' audition for Forrest Gump has surfaced, and it's pretty incredible!
The tape shows the actor reading opposite Robin Wright, who went on to play love interest Jenny. Although Tom doesn't use the heavy Southern accent his character is now famous for, we can certainly see the slow-witted, yet big-hearted Forrest form before our eyes.
A young Haley Joel Osment is also featured in the scene where Jenny introduces Forrest to his young son. Take a peek:
